For over 20 years, the Academy of Music for the Blind (AMB) has remained the only year-round institution in the country exclusively devoted to comprehensive music education for blind youth.
More than a school, AMB is a community where students are empowered by a shared passion and the liberating power of music — a place where blindness is not seen as a limitation but as part of the unique lens through which they view and shape the world.
Many of these young musicians are affected by rare visual conditions that shape their daily lives, yet gain strength and support from comprehensive programming that not only nurtures their artistic talents but also builds confidence, resilience, and community.
With the help of dedicated donors, foundations, corporate sponsors, and volunteers, the academy continues to work towards a world where economic barriers and geographic limitations don’t stand in the way of a blind child’s dreams.
